ABOUT ME
I was born in Stockholm, Sweden, and spent my childhood in Sweden, Australia and the United States. I grew up in a bicultural household with both Swedish and Czech influences. I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, swimming, and contemplating life in the outdoors. I am an amateur musician and dancer. I also enjoy meditation and have an active mindfulness practice. I have a life-long passion for learning and helping people, leaders, teams, and organizations. I use he/him pronouns and identify as white skinned.
CLINICAL BACKGROUND
I am trained in various treatment approaches including Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (and for CBT for Psychosis), Harm Reduction Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Multifamily Group Therapy for Serious Mental Illness. I have been providing therapy since 1999. My clients have described me as warm, compassionate, empathetic, and passionate about providing the best possible treatment for them.
LEADERSHIP BACKGROUND
I have held several leadership roles over 20 years including Team Lead, Clinical Supervisor, Behavioral Health Manager, Training Director, and Site Director of a large interdisciplinary Department of Psychiatry with 80+ employees in the largest HMO in Northern California. I am a relational leader with a passion for building strong programs and teams with an extensive track record of high performing teams. I strongly believe in bringing radical genuineness to leadership. I am deeply invested in creating long lasting cultural changes that promote transparency and an unwavering focus on the specific needs of the communities we serve. I fully support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity work with meaningful and demonstrable outcomes.
